Role Description The Driver/Mechanic is a full-time, on-site role based in Tarangire & Serengeti, responsible for safely operating and maintaining company vehicles, including trucks used for lodge logistics and guest support. Day-to-day tasks include transporting goods and equipment between lodges and suppliers, performing routine inspections, and carrying out basic mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance to ensure vehicle reliability. The role also involves keeping accurate records of mileage, repairs, and fuel usage, adhering to safety and traffic regulations, and coordinating schedules with operations and lodge management. The Driver/Mechanic interacts with staff, partners, and guests as needed, providing courteous, clear communication and professional service while representing Entara Lodges’ conservation-focused brand.

Qualifications

  • Strong driving skills and safe vehicle operation experience, including experience with trucks used for logistics and transport specifically landcruiser 75 Series.
  • Valid CDL Class C, C1,C2, and C3 with a clean driving record and familiarity with local and regional road regulations.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills to interact professionally with team members, partners, and guests.
  • Basic to intermediate mechanical skills for routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on trucks and other vehicles having auto electrical repair capability is an added advantage.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures, adhere to company policies, and maintain accurate trip and maintenance records.
  • Reliability and strong time management skills, with the ability to work flexible hours as required by lodge operations.
  • Knowledge of the region and surrounding routes is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in hospitality, logistics, or conservation-focused environments is beneficial.
  • VETA level 3 qualification is an added advantage.

Contract Term

1) 2 Months probation period.

2) Remote working for 2 months, one in Tarangire and other in serengeti
