Purpose of Job

The Digital Learning Officer is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating innovative digital and blended learning solutions that build a digitally fluent workforce and embed a culture of continuous, self-directed learning aligned to business priorities.

Principal Accountabilities

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain engaging e-learning modules and digital learning resources using Articulate 360.
  • Develop accessible blended learning solutions, including e-learning, live virtual sessions, self-directed resources, videos, guides, and facilitator toolkits.
  • Upload, organize, test, and maintain content on the Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring it is accessible, inclusive, and aligned with organizational strategic priorities.
  • Implement the bank's e-learning strategy as agreed from time to time.
  • Ensure the e-learning system is used in line with the vision of enhancing effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Lead instructional design projects; engage stakeholders and subject matter experts in conducting research and analysis to identify training needs.
  • Advise subject matter experts to review content, select appropriate learning methods, and design learning materials.
  • Oversee the conceptualization, development, and layout of the appropriate technical infrastructure required to deliver digital e-learning content to its audience.
  • Develop and monitor completion data, learner feedback, and course usage to support continuous improvement.
  • Measure and report the effectiveness and return on investment (ROI) of digital learning programmes using learner analytics and business performance data.
  • Confer as needed with third-party providers of educational materials and resources to ensure that they meet organization training goals and objectives.
  • Conduct or support pilot tests to ensure effectiveness of developed programs and compatibility with other systems.
  • Prepare updates and progress reports on e-learning.
  • Provide project support related to learning, employee enhancement, and culture transformation.

Knowledge

  • Experience with management systems for e-learning.
  • Experience with e-learning development, production, and authoring tools such as Adobe Premiere, Adobe Audition, Camtasia, Captivate, Microsoft Office Suite, Illustrator, and Articulate.
  • Familiarity with server-based technology, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and databases.
  • Exposure to the use of AI tools in content design is desirable.

  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and low-bandwidth learning design.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Relationship management skills.
  • Planning and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to communicate ideas and information effectively, clearly, and concisely.
  • Strong computer skills, especially data management systems, analytical skills, and accounting.
  • Confident, self-disciplined, and self-motivated individual.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design & Learning Technologies, Education, or a related technical field.
  • Master's degree in Instructional Design & Learning Technologies is an added advantage.
  • Certification in Human Resources or Learning & Development is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience developing learning programs for both classroom and technology-based learning and performance solutions in Learning & Development or Training.
