Job Purpose:

To repair company vehicles, trailers, implements farm machinery and mobile irrigation pumps to agreed set standards by using hand tools, manuals and other workshop equipment.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Carries out repairs to company vehicles/farm machinery, trailers, implements etc. according to repair specifications
• Conducting preventive maintenance/alternate service to company vehicles/farm machinery, trailer, implement, etc. according to manufacturer’s specifications
• Carries out vehicle test and report any fault/findings to LDV & TRUCK Maintenance Foreman
• Co-operate with management to enable them to perform their duties under the Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Perform all tasks with “awareness” towards the prevention of any forms of pollution to the surrounding and environment
• Ensures that all operations are carried out as per the ISO 9001: 2000 Quality Management System at Kilombero Sugar to achieve the quality standards
• Maintains a clean working environment with proper housekeeping

Must Have Skills:

• Pneumatic & Hydraulics
• Auto Mechanics Skills

Qualifications:

• Trade Test Grade II in Automotive Mechanics
• Ordinary Level Certificate
• 1–2 years’ experience as a Mechanic in related environment
