As part of strengthening our finance and compliance function, the company is seeking to recruit a competent, hands-on, and highly analytical professional for the following position:
ACCOUNTANT
Location: Mlandizi – Pwani Region
Reporting To: Chief Finance Officer (CFO)
Position Summary
The Accountant will be responsible for managing the company’s tax compliance obligations while supporting financial accounting, reporting, reconciliations, audit readiness, and manufacturing finance controls.
The role requires a practical professional with strong exposure in both taxation and accounting, capable of operating independently in a dynamic industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
Tax & Statutory Compliance
- Prepare and submit all statutory tax returns in compliance with TRA requirements
- Manage monthly filings including VAT, PAYE, WHT, SDL, Service Levy, and related statutory obligations
- Support annual corporate income tax computations and filings
- Reconcile tax accounts and maintain accurate tax schedules
- Coordinate and support TRA audits, tax reviews, and statutory inspections
- Monitor changes in Tanzanian tax laws and ensure ongoing compliance
- Support management on tax planning, exemptions, and regulatory matters
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Maintain accurate accounting records, reconciliations, and ledger schedules
- Support preparation of monthly management accounts and annual financial statements
- Participate in month-end and year-end closure processes
- Prepare audit schedules and support external audit activities
- Ensure integrity and accuracy of financial data and reporting
Manufacturing Finance & Systems Support
- Support inventory, cost accounting, and production-related financial controls
- Reconcile inventory records between physical stock, ERP systems, and financial statements
- Generate accounting and tax reports from ERP/accounting systems
- Utilize Excel and accounting tools for reconciliations, analysis, and reporting
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA (T), ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in tax and financial accounting roles
- Strong knowledge of Tanzanian tax laws, TRA systems, and statutory compliance
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments will be an added advantage
- Practical experience in preparation of financial statements and handling audits
- Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
