PROGRAM OVERVIEW
NMB Foundation established the Nuru Yangu Scholarship and Mentorship Program to support education with the aim to break the cycle of poverty and develop the next generation of leaders through increased access to secondary and university education.
The program seeks to ignite the potential of young people who are thirsty for knowledge, dreaming of a better tomorrow and have a desire to make a difference in the world.
This is an achievement-based scholarship and mentorship program targeting students from low-income communities who are exceptional and can commit to making an impact in their communities and the country.
SCHOLARSHIP
For Undergraduate Studies:
The scholarship covers:
- Full tuition fee.
- Stipend allowance.
- Field allowance.
- Stationery.
- Laptops.
- All direct costs to university as per prospectus.
COHORT 3 APPLICATIONS
Applications are now open for Cohort 3 of the NMB Foundation Nuru Yangu Scholarship and Mentorship Programme.
This year, 50 academically talented students from financially disadvantaged families will receive support to thrive at university and beyond.
This is more than a scholarship. It is an opportunity to learn, grow and build a brighter future.

MENTORSHIP
Undergraduate Scholarship recipients are also enrolled into a mentorship program that gives them an opportunity to develop practical and in-demand skills that are key to progressing their career ambitions.
The mentorship program also gives an opportunity for the Foundation to discuss the performance of the scholars with their respective universities.

GUIDELINES

Committee assess applicant’s academic and financial position as a basis of awarding scholarship.
Candidates are required to:

- Fill the application form accurately and completely (all incomplete or inaccurately filled forms will be rejected automatically).

- NMB Foundation through the Nuru Yangu selection committee, reserves the right to make the final determination of scholarship beneficiaries
- Only candidates who completed ACSEE and meet other criteria are eligible for scholarship
