Perseus Mining (Tanzania) Limited (SMLC) is seeking a Warehouse Superintendent.

Reporting to the (Supply Chain Manager), The Warehouse Superintendent is accountable for maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring material availability, safeguarding company assets, managing warehouse personnel, and ensuring warehouse operations comply with safety, operational, and regulatory requirements while supporting the overall objectives of the mining operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, issuing, and dispatch of materials.
  • Ensure warehouse operations are conducted efficiently and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate stock of critical spares, consumables, and operational materials.
  • Oversee the receipt of materials and equipment. Verify quantities, specifications, and quality against purchase orders and delivery notes. Ensure accurate documentation and system entries for all received items.
  • Supervise warehouse personnel and assign daily tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and security requirements.
  • Enforce safe handling and storage of hazardous materials and chemicals.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in the company’s ERP or warehouse management system.
  • Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams regarding material deliveries and stock requirements. · Ensure proper storage conditions to prevent damage, deterioration, loss, or theft
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and applicable regulations

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields: Supply Chain Management, Business Administration Or another related field.
  • At least 10 years of consecutive relevant experience in superintendent level with procurement/warehouse or supply chain department especially in mining or multinational construction projects.
  • Membership or registration with the Procurement and Supplies Professionals and Technicians Board (PSPTB), Or any other recognized supply chain and logistics professional bodies.
  • Leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to be cost effective.
  • Material planning skills.
  • Understand warehouse and inventory management principles.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP ERP, Oracle ERP, or Pronto Xi.
  • Understand inventory forecasting and replenishment planning.
  • Skilled in staff supervision and performance management.
  • Should be able to coordinate activities across procurement, maintenance, logistics, and operations departments.
  • A personal with high integrity and accountability skills

Where You’ll Be Working

Nyanzaga Gold Project is Perseus’s first planned operation in Tanzania, located in the Lake Victoria Goldfields. A Final Investment Decision was made in April 2025, with first gold production targeted for early 2027.

The project places strong emphasis on sustainability and local development, with programs dedicated to employment, skills training, infrastructure, and long-term social outcomes. Once operational, Nyanzaga is expected to become a key contributor to Perseus’s future growth and a flagship project in East Africa.
