Job Title: REMITTANCE OFFICER

Division: DIGITAL AND TRANSACTION BANKING

JOB OBJECTIVES

Drive growth of money transfer volumes and revenues to meet the sales targets

To ensure the most appropriate policies, processes, resources and partners are in place to drive optimal returns for the bank

JOB DESCRIPTION

Business development

  • Develop and execute product plans to support remittance and other digital products
  • Identify and implement innovative revenue generating services
  • Drive remittance products promotion and rewards to encourage increased adoption and usage
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders
  • Establish relationship with branch business team to achieve the set branch remittance targets
  • Recruitment of sub-agents for remittance products to increase cash pick up points

Performance Monitoring & Analytics

  • Monitor changes and trends in remittance to ensure competitiveness in the market and alignment to customer preference
  • Conduct monthly analysis to ensure product and pricing is in alignment with the industry position
  • Closely monitor customer complaints and improve the process to provide simple, functional and reliable products

Communication & Training

  • Train and guide staff involved in remittance as per the banks training framework
  • Produce and publish detailed product information guides including features and functions, positioning and pricing
  • Conduct training to all recruited sub agents

Research & Development

  • Assist in the overall planning process for new features and initiatives for remittance products
  • Work closely with the sales team, IT, operations to identify future product enhancement
  • Develop digital and remittance sales plan to drive growth of volumes to meet targets
  • Identify products not meeting market/ segments needs and develop transition plans
  • Ensure all key stakeholders are involved in the development of products and that the appropriate SLA’s are in place to support the delivery of existing and new products

Regulatory & Compliance

  • Ensure familiarity with all the policies and processes of the bank
  • Ensure compliance with all the local regulations and Global best practice
  • Coordinate with the business, IT and operations to ensure that the necessary testing is conducted prior to release to production
  • Ensure prompt resolution of all open issues in the Audit Report, Management letter or Regulator report

Any other duty that may be assigned by your supervisors

  • Product penetration
  • Implementation of business and development plan
  • Growth of remittance revenue
  • Customer services

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor Degree or equivalent. MBA/Master’s Degree or a relevant professional qualification will be an advantage

Experience: Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Banking, Microfinance or Payments system

Knowledge

  • In-depth knowledge of the business environment and Digital banking products
  • Fraud and Operational risk knowledge
  • Revenue assurance and Product Knowledge
  • Regulatory and legal knowledge

Skill/Competencies

  • Strong business development and selling skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skill
