National Researcher (Hybrid/Field-Based)

Vashi Impact Group (VIG) is seeking an experienced National Researcher from Tanzania to support feasibility studies, baselines, evaluations, and evidence-generation work.

We are looking for a Tanzania-based national professional with strong contextual understanding, research expertise, and a commitment to gender equality, social justice, and ethical, community-led research.

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀:

• Lead and support feasibility studies, baseline/midline/endline assessments, and evaluations
• Coordinate and conduct field-based and remote data collection (surveys, FGDs, KIIs)
• Support the development, digitisation, and pre-testing of research tools (quantitative & qualitative)
• Conduct literature reviews, contextual and political economy analysis, and evidence mapping
• Support data translation and transcription (qualitative and quantitative data)
• Contribute to high-quality technical reports, learning briefs, and documentation
• Liaise with local communities, partners, and stakeholders to ensure ethical and quality research practice

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗲’𝗿𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗼𝗿:

• Strong academic background in social sciences, development studies, gender studies, economics, or a related field
• Proven experience conducting national-level research in Tanzania
• Proficiency in Excel and experience with SPSS, STATA, Kobo Toolbox
• Excellent writing, analytical, and documentation skills
• Strong commitment to ethical research, safeguarding, and inclusive engagement
