Program Officer at MUKIKUTE

Job Title: Program Officer

Reports to : Program Manager

Reporting Line;

The Program Officer will undertake the routine day to day programmatic and administrative functions in the Program Unit and will report directly to the Program Manager under the overall supervision of the Director.

Job Summary:

The Program Officer works with and supports the Program Manager to ensure efficient implementation, monitoring and evaluation and reporting of TB services in Temeke Municipality including direct field coordination of key program priorities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation and reporting of community TB services as guided under respective TB program essential areas including core TB activities supported by MKUTA/LHLI within and outside Temeke Municipality when required
  • Support implementation of initiatives to address donor and national TB program priorities – such as intensive TB screening and case finding in line with national guidelines.
  • Support to the RTLC and DTLCs in planning, implementation, M&E and reporting of TB
  • Support the Program Manager to assess and implement initiatives to address skills and resource needs in TB services through supportive supervision, mentorship, on-job training in collaboration with R/DTLCs.
  • Support the implementation of MUKIKUTE’s ACSM strategy including meaningful engagement of TB affected communities in all stages of program design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation amplifying their voices at local, national and international levels
  • Support timely collection and submission of TB club membership information and TB data – as well as support strengthening of the related M&E systems as guided by MKUTA M&E teams
  • Support the Program Manager in writing technical program documents including reports, best practices, lessons learned and other relevant documents.
  • Participate in resources mobilization activities as outlined in MUKIKUTE’s annual resource mobilization plan.
  • Support the core values MUKIKUTE ensuring appropriate governance and oversight guidance to elected leaders, Secretariat and Executive Committee in the implementation of their duties.
  • Support and advise the Program Manager on all TB issues and perform other relevant duties as assigned by the Program

Requirements, Education, work experience and skills

Degree or Advanced diploma in medicine, nursing or related discipline

At least two (2) years of experience working in public health programs/ services.

At least two (2) years of experience in design, implementation, management and M&E of TB or related public health programs and services.

Experience in writing reports, best practices and lessons learned.

Excellent command of Swahili and English languages, in written and oral communication.

Experience in basic computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, Power point and internet.

Ability to work under pressure and stringent deadlines.
