Business Registrations and Licensing Agency (BRELA)

The Business Registrations and Licensing Agency (BRELA) is a semi-autonomous agency in Tanzania that registers businesses. BRELA also issues licenses and patents, and registers trade and service marks. 

Responsibilities Registering companies, Registering business names, Registering trade and service marks, Issuing industrial licenses, and Patenting. 

Online services

• BRELA offers online services for registering business names, companies, industrial licenses, trade and service marks, and patents 
• The Online Registration System (ORS) allows users to send new applications and process post registration matters 
• The ORS can be used to search for business and company names for free and without registration
