Job Purpose
The Senior Officer (Authorizer) – Credit Administration is responsible for authorizing credit administration entries and ensuring the safe custody and control of legal documents supporting credit facilities. The role also oversees the controlled release of approved credit facilities while ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and operational procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Authorize credit administration entries and ensure accurate and timely maintenance of records in Flexcube, Median, and EDMS systems.
- Ensure all credit disbursements are processed within the approved authority limits.
- Monitor and diarize pending documentation and information arising from credit disbursements for future follow-up.
- Reconcile Credit Administration Department general ledger accounts and escalate any identified exceptions.
- Ensure timely submission of Bank of Tanzania reports, Credit Reference Bureau reports, and IFRS 9 reports.
- Prepare and submit MCC, BCC, daily, weekly, monthly, and other internal management reports accurately and on time.
- Follow up and respond to audit findings and compliance reviews.
- Support and maintain an effective Business Continuity Plan for the department.
- Lead projects and special assignments from User Acceptance Testing through to implementation in the live environment.
- Initiate and follow up on ICT and system-related issues and exceptions.
- Act as the Governance, Risk and Compliance Risk Champion within the department.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Banking and Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
Work Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a banking environment.
