East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP)

​The East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) is a proposed 1,443 km (897 miles) buried pipeline designed to transport crude oil from Uganda's Lake Albert oilfields to the port of Tanga in Tanzania. The pipeline aims to facilitate the export of oil produced from Uganda's Tilenga and Kingfisher oil fields to global markets.

Key Details:

• Route: The pipeline is planned to start in Kabaale, Uganda, and traverse ten Ugandan districts Hoima, Kikuube, Kakumiro, Kyankwanzi, Gomba, Mubende, Lwengo, Sembabule, Kyotera, and Rakai before crossing into Tanzania and ending at the Port of Tanga.
• Capacity: EACOP is designed to transport up to 216,000 barrels of oil per day.
