Key Responsibilities
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Planning and implementing preventive and corrective electrical maintenance.
- Troubleshooting electrical faults affecting production and utility systems.
- Supervising electrical maintenance activities.
- Ensuring electrical equipment is maintained in accordance with approved procedures.
- Supporting installation, commissioning, and qualification of electrical equipment.
- Monitoring electrical distribution systems, control panels, motors, generators, and related equipment.
- Supporting maintenance of HVAC, water systems, compressors, production equipment, and other plant utilities where applicable.
- Maintaining electrical maintenance records and documentation.
- Supporting energy efficiency and electrical power management initiatives.
- Ensuring compliance with electrical safety requirements.
- Working closely with Production, QA, QC, and other departments to minimize equipment downtime.
- Participating in equipment validation, calibration, and qualification activities where applicable.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience.
- Strong experience in industrial/manufacturing environments.
- Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, control panels, power distribution, automation, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
- Strong understanding of occupational and electrical safety.
- Registration with the relevant professional regulatory body where applicable.
