Job Purpose

Advise and support the implementation of environmental strategies, standards, systems, interventions, programmes, and processes to ensure compliance with company requirements, legislative regulations, and customer environmental standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor environmental impacts and collect data on environmental performance.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, reporting requirements, permits, and internal policies.
• Implement the Environmental Management System (EMS) at operational level.
• Conduct environmental risk assessments and site inspections.
• Investigate environmental incidents, accidents, and near misses using approved investigation tools.
• Develop and deliver environmental training and awareness programs.
• Provide technical environmental support to operational teams.
• Report environmental incidents and risks and support corrective action development.
• Conduct regular environmental audits and risk assessments to identify hazards and improvement areas.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, including HSE, competition law, and anti-bribery policies.
• Engage with government and non-government environmental organizations to ensure compliance and best practices.
• Manage ecological systems within assigned estate areas.
• Support audits on waste management systems within the estate.
• Promote environmental awareness and sustainability in surrounding communities (schools, villages, etc.).
• Participate in monthly HSE meetings and contribute to environmental discussions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Management, or related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in an environmental-related role, preferably in a corporate or industrial environment.
• Good understanding of environmental compliance and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience in audits, risk assessments, and environmental reporting.
