Job Purpose

Ensure appropriate treatment of patients and provide health education to patients and communities to help prevent communicable diseases.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Treat patients whenever they are sick according to prescribed treatment plans.
• Provide health education to inpatients and outpatients.
• Administer vaccines to patients.
• Support prevention and control of communicable diseases.
• Maintain cleanliness of the ward and hospital environment.
• Prepare ward handover reports on patient conditions and medical status.
• Provide Reproductive and Child Health (RCH) services including antenatal care, postnatal care, and care for children under five years, as well as CTC services.
• Assess patients’ health progress and monitor recovery.
• Conduct pre-engagement medical assessments.
• Perform all tasks with awareness of environmental protection and pollution prevention.
• Conduct deliveries during labour for pregnant women.
• Provide guidance and supportive supervision to nurse assistants.

Required Skills

• Strong communication skills.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution.
• At least 2+ years of experience as a Nurse Midwife.
• Registered by the Tanzania Nurses and Midwifery Council (TNMC).
• Valid nursing practising licence.
