The Tanzania Meteorological Authority (TMA) is the national agency responsible for providing and regulating weather and climate services in Tanzania. Established in 2019 under the Meteorological Authority Act No. 2 of 2019, TMA operates under the Ministry of Transport. Its origins trace back to the Tanzania Meteorological Agency, which was founded in 1999 following the dissolution of the East African Meteorological Department.
