Overview
Kilosa District Council administers Kilosa District, one of six districts in Morogoro Region. Covering roughly 11,774 km² on the central plateau and highlands ranging from low floodplains to elevations near the Udzungwa and Uluguru Mountains it is strategically bordered by the Manyara and Tanga regions to the north, Mvomero and Morogoro Rural to the east, Kilombero to the south, and Dodoma Region to the west. As of the 2022 census, the district is home to approximately 617,032 residents, with a nearly even split between urban centers like Kilosa town (pop. 43,418) and rural communities.
