Overview
Mtwara Municipal Council also known as Mtwara–Mikindani Municipal Council is the sole municipal authority within Tanzania Mtwara Region. Governed under the regional Local Government framework, it encompasses the coastal towns of Mtwara and historic Mikindani, covering approximately 163–170 km² along the Indian Ocean.
