SBA Communications operates in Tanzania through its local subsidiary, Minara Tanzania, a joint venture between SBA Communications and Paradigm Infrastructure. This venture was established following the acquisition of approximately 1,400 telecom towers from Airtel Tanzania in 2021 for $175 million.
SBA Communications operates primarily in two segments: Site Leasing and Site Development. In the Site Leasing segment, the company leases antenna space on its multi-tenant towers to wireless service providers under long-term contracts.
