Eligibility to Sell
- Sellers must be registered and verified users of Zoom Tanzania.
- All sellers must provide accurate and up-to-date contact information.
- Sellers must comply with local laws and regulations regarding the sale of their items.
- Sellers must be the legal owners of the items they list and must not sell stolen, counterfeit, or unlawfully obtained goods.
- High-risk categories (electronics, vehicles, property) may require additional verification documents.
Product Listings
- Accuracy: Ensure that all product descriptions, specifications, and images accurately represent the item being sold. Misleading, exaggerated, or incorrect information is prohibited.
- Condition: Clearly state whether the item is new, used, refurbished, or for parts only. Disclose all defects, faults, missing parts, or known issues.
- Images: Upload clear, high-quality images that show the actual product. Avoid using stock photos unless selling a brand-new, sealed product. Do not use images taken from other sellers, websites, or copyrighted sources. Do not include watermarks that obscure the product.
- Pricing: Set a fair, transparent, and competitive price. Sellers are encouraged to research similar listings on Zoom Tanzania to determine appropriate pricing. Prices must be final and must not be changed after a buyer has agreed.
- Duplicate Listings: Do not post the same item multiple times or across unrelated categories. Remove the listing immediately once the item is sold.
- Category & Titles: Post items in the correct category. Use clear, specific titles avoid vague or misleading titles like “CHEAP PHONE FOR SALE.”
Prohibited Items
- Sellers must adhere to our Forbidden Items Policy, which lists items not allowed on Zoom Tanzania, including counterfeit goods, stolen items, illegal substances, hazardous materials, and other prohibited items.
- Listing prohibited items may result in removal of the listing, account suspension, or permanent banning.
Seller Verification & Trust
- Sellers must verify their phone number and email before posting.
- For certain categories, sellers may be required to provide additional identity or ownership documents on request.
- Accounts that cannot be verified or appear suspicious may be restricted or suspended.
Communication with Buyers
- All communication between buyers and sellers on Zoom Tanzania must use the contact information provided in the listing.
- Respond to inquiries promptly, politely, and professionally.
- Clearly communicate item condition, payment methods, shipping or pickup arrangements, and any other relevant details.
- Do not engage in harassment, abusive language, spam, or pressure tactics.
- Do not ask buyers for unnecessary personal documents (e.g., passwords, full bank credentials).
Payments
- Zoom Tanzania does not handle payments between buyers and sellers. All payments must be arranged directly between the buyer and seller.
- Sellers must ensure payment methods are secure and mutually agreed upon. Avoid accepting suspicious payment types or requests.
- Zoom Tanzania may charge listing or transaction fees; these fees will be displayed at the time of listing.
Shipping and Delivery
- Shipping Responsibility: Sellers are responsible for arranging shipping or delivery and must clearly indicate whether shipping is offered or the item is pickup-only.
- Shipping Costs: If shipping is offered, indicate exact shipping costs and who will pay them.
- Timeliness: Ship promptly after receiving payment and provide tracking information to the buyer as soon as it’s available.
- Packaging: Pack items securely to prevent transit damage.
- Local Pickup: For pickup, choose a safe, public meeting place and allow the buyer to inspect the item. Do not ask buyers to come to unsafe or private locations.
- Shipping Method: Use reliable shipping services and match the service level to buyer expectations.
- Buyer Communication: Keep buyers informed confirm shipping details, send tracking, and update on delivery status.
Returns and Refunds
- Zoom Tanzania does not provide a platform-wide return policy; sellers manage their own return and refund policies.
- Clear Policy: If you accept returns, state the return terms, conditions, and timeframes clearly in the listing.
- Dispute Resolution: Handle return requests and disputes fairly and promptly.
- Refunds: Process refunds quickly once the returned item has been inspected, if applicable.
Ownership, Documentation & Authenticity
- Sellers must be prepared to provide proof of ownership or documentation on request (receipts, registration papers, warranty cards).
- Always disclose if documentation is missing.
- For vehicles and property, disclose registration, transferability, and insurance details.
Warranty & After-Sale Claims
- Sellers must clearly state whether the item has a manufacturer warranty, seller warranty, or no warranty.
- Do not falsely claim the existence of a warranty.
- If offering a seller warranty, outline terms and duration in the listing.
Safety & Fraud Prevention
- Never request buyer credentials, full bank passwords, or other sensitive personal information.
- Do not ask buyers to make payments outside of agreed, secure methods without clear documentation.
- Do not create multiple accounts to avoid penalties or manipulate listings.
- Any attempt to defraud buyers will result in permanent ban and possible legal action.
No External Advertising or Links
- Sellers must not use listings to advertise unrelated services, external shops, or include unauthorized promotional links (WhatsApp groups, Telegram invites, or other external referral links) unless previously approved by Zoom Tanzania.
- Do not include social media links or contact details in a way that violates marketplace rules.
Data Privacy
- Sellers must respect buyer privacy and not share buyer details with third parties.
- Use buyer contact only for the transaction and delivery of the purchased item.
Seller Conduct, Performance & Ratings
- Maintain professional conduct. Repeated cancellations, misrepresentations, or unresolved disputes may lead to restrictions.
- Sellers with frequent complaints may have listings removed, face temporary suspension, or receive a permanent ban.
- If Zoom Tanzania provides ratings or feedback tools, sellers should act to maintain good performance.
Intellectual Property & Copyright
- Do not upload copyrighted content you do not own or have permission to use.
- Do not list counterfeit or replica branded goods as genuine.
- Use brand names only when selling genuine items with proper authorization.
Environmental & Ethical Selling (Recommended)
- Avoid selling items that pose environmental hazards without proper disclosure or handling instructions.
- Consider responsible disposal or recycling for items not fit for sale.
Marketplace Rights & Enforcement
- Zoom Tanzania reserves the right to remove or edit any listing that violates guidelines or appears unsafe, misleading, or fraudulent.
- Zoom Tanzania may request additional verification, suspend accounts under investigation, and update these guidelines at any time.
- Repeated or severe violations may result in warning, suspension, or permanent ban.
