CHIEF INTERNAL AUDITOR

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive internal audit plan.
• Lead and manage internal audit engagements, ensuring compliance with established policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.
• Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings and recommendations to management and the Board.
• Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations.
• Provide independent assurance on the accuracy and reliability of financial and operational information.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of internal auditors.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CIA) is mandatory.
• Minimum of 3 years of overall experience in internal audit, with at least 2 years in a senior or leadership role, preferably within an agricultural cooperative or similar organisation.
• In-depth knowledge of auditing standards, financial regulations, and risk management principles.
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
• A comprehensive understanding of the operational framework of cooperatives in Tanzania, particularly in the context of agricultural cooperatives within the cashew industry, is a significant advantage.
