Job Description

Employee Relations associate position is aiming at providing a positive and collaborative relationship between the organization and its employees, particularly with regard to labor laws, union relations and workplace policies.

Main areas of responsibility

  • Facilitating internal disciplinary hearing and ensure all parties adhere to company policies and procedures
  • Represent the Company at labor court and defend effectively
  • Assist in developing and maintaining internal Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Unions to ensure a balanced employee-employer relation.
  • Ensure all employees’ personal records are filed and kept up-to-date both in personal files and SAPHR
  • Assist in developing, maintaining and enforcing policies and procedures relating to industrial relations and advise line managers to ensure consistent application.
  • Leading to develop and implement employee engagement initiatives to enhance workplace environment

Requirements

  • University degree in Law and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice / LL.M. or equivalent.
  • Experience in dealing with industrial relations
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English and Swahili
  • Excellent communication skills, negotiations skills, interpersonal skills, general business understanding
  • Conversant with Tanzania labor laws by practicing
