Job Description

The Branch Operations Officer (BOI) is responsible for ensuring the smooth facilitation of customer banking operations at the branch. This role focuses heavily on maintaining operational efficiency, adherence to procedures, and achieving high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.

Roles & Responsibilities

The Branch Operations Officer's principal accountabilities include:

  • Customer Retention: Ensuring adherence to Turnaround Times (TAT) to maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Service Quality: Ensuring Preferred customers receive excellent service at all times while on the premises.
  • Customer Desk Management: Ensuring the customer service desk is properly positioned, manned, and equipped with all necessary facilities to serve customers effectively.
  • Complaint Resolution: Ensuring customer complaints are recorded and resolved promptly, utilizing the Helpdesk system.
  • Security & Control: Strict adherence and execution of Vault Keys procedures, including maintaining dual control and time lock delays.
  • Operational Control: Overseeing and managing key operational areas, including reconciliations, remittances, ATMs, cash shortages, controlled stationery, journal checking, payment verification, clearing, and deposits.
  • Procedure Adherence: Ensuring strict adherence to all existing standard operating procedures.
  • TAT Management: Observing Turnaround Times (TAT) for all activities related to centralized operations, such as opening accounts, dormant accounts, account closures, fixed deposits, mobile banking, chequebooks, OTT/TISS, CTS, and other related activities communicated by operations/CBO.
  • Premises Management: Ensuring the overall cleanliness and presentation of the customer bank hall area.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in any related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years of Banking experience in branch operations with a good performance track record.
  • Procedural Compliance: Ability to carry out work strictly according to the bank’s procedures.
  • Sales Skills: Possesses sales and negotiation skills.
  • Integrity: Demonstrates good integrity.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead a team.
