Job Summary
The BI Analytics & Insights Analyst is responsible for transforming raw data into actionable business insights through advanced analytics, data engineering, visualization, and predictive modelling. The role bridges business intelligence to support strategic decision making, operational efficiency, and data driven culture while ensuring strong data governance and quality standards.
Job Description
Key responsibilities and approximate time split:
Business Intelligence & Analytics
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand analytical requirements and translate them into BI and advanced analytics solutions.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize BI solutions that provide insights into business performance, trends, and risks.
- Define and manage KPIs, metrics, and analytical frameworks aligned with business strategy.
- Perform deep dive analyses to identify patterns, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
- Design and maintain KPIs covering:
- Revenue & profitability
- o Customer acquisition & retention
- o Credit portfolio performance
- o Liquidity & balance sheet metrics
Support management reporting, executive dashboards, and board‑level insights.
- Provide root‑cause and variance analysis for financial and operational performance.
Data Engineering & Data Modelling
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT) from multiple source systems.
- Develop and optimize data models (star/snowflake schemas) for analytics and reporting.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and performance across analytical datasets.
- Collaborate with IT and cloud teams on data architecture and platform optimization.
Power BI & Data Visualization
- Design and deliver interactive, high‑performance Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Apply best practices in data visualization, UX/UI, and storytelling.
- Implement DAX calculations, measures, and time intelligence.
- Manage Power BI datasets, data refreshes, security (RLS), and deployment pipelines.
- Manage dataset refreshes, performance optimization, and Row‑Level Security (RLS).
Data Governance & Quality
- Enforce data governance standards, definitions, and master data management.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
- Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and documentation.
- Maintain data dictionaries, lineage, and metadata.
Collaboration & Enablement
- Act as a trusted analytics advisor to business teams.
- Train and support users on BI tools, dashboards, and data interpretation.
- Contribute to analytics best practices, standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Statistics, Information Systems, Engineering, Economics, or related field.
- Master’s degree is an added advantage.
Preferred Experience
- Minimum 4 years technical experience
- Experience in working within a large complex organization with multiple stakeholders
Knowledge And Skills
Technical Skills
- Business Intelligence: KPI design, analytics frameworks, stakeholder engagement.
- Power BI: Advanced DAX, Power Query, data modelling, RLS, performance optimization.
- Data Engineering: SQL (advanced), ETL/ELT, data pipelines, data warehousing.
- Databases: SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or cloud data platforms.
- Data Governance: Data quality, metadata management, privacy and security concepts.
