Job Description

Reporting Line: Senior Manager – Credit Review & Control

Job Purpose

The Senior Officer Credit Review & Control is responsible for monitoring and controlling the Bank's credit portfolio. The role focuses on strengthening credit review processes, enhancing supervision standards, and supporting the effective management of the Bank's growing credit portfolio.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review the credit portfolio on a daily basis and identify accounts requiring follow-up and regularisation.
  • Work closely with the Head of Credit Review & Control to identify stressed assets and recommend corrective actions.
  • Review credit assessments prepared by business teams to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify unauthorised overdrafts and ensure proper accountability and regularisation.
  • Monitor compliance with credit control frameworks, including periodic client returns and covenant requirements.
  • Conduct post-disbursement reviews and monitor compliance with approval conditions.
  • Review updated financial statements, account operations, and security perfection requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with conditions imposed by MCC, TRC, and BCC.
  • Monitor low-rated and stressed accounts, including non-performing assets, while working closely with the Debt Recovery Unit where required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Banking and Finance, Economics, or a related field.

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years of banking experience.
  • Experience in credit departments, particularly in corporate and retail credit assessment and monitoring, is preferred.
