Job Description
Core Responsibilities:
- Design and execute a comprehensive growth roadmap for the merchant payments business, ensuring revenue targets align with budget goals and financial forecasts.
- Develop and deploy scalable strategies and relevant partnerships to acquire new merchants across diverse market segments, industries, and geographies.
- Lead revenue growth initiatives, including personalized campaigns, partnership strategies, and market penetration programs to maximize profitability.
- Synergize with operations, technology, and innovation teams to ensure seamless operation of the merchant payment platform across all channels.
- Identify and negotiate strategic partnerships to expand reach and strengthen Mixx position in the market.
- Oversee merchant payments P&L, budgeting, forecasting, unit economics, and resource allocation to optimize growth and investments while ensuring profitability.
- Manage a high-performing team, setting clear goals and fostering a culture of ownership and accountability.
Core Competencies:
- Familiarity with regulatory landscapes affecting mobile financial services.
- Proficiency in leveraging analytics, research, and market insights for strategic decision-making.
- Deep understanding of merchant payments and its ecosystem, market dynamics, product management, and revenue & cost optimization.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Marketing, Technology, or related fields.
- 7+ years’ experience in mobile money, fintech, or related industries with at least 3 years in a leadership position.
- MBA is an added advantage.
