Job Description

Is responsible for a wide range of tasks involving the management and coordination of equipment rentals, stripping and stuffing operations, reporting, and liaising with billing and cargo control teams. The role requires attention to detail in inspecting, verifying, and coordinating multiple processes to ensure smooth operations within the organization.

Key Performance Areas:

Rental of Equipment:

  • Oversee the rental process of equipment, including the identification of requirements, coordination of rental agreements, and ensuring timely returns.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment rental schedules and usage.
  • Ensure all rented equipment is in proper working condition, addressing any maintenance needs or issues that arise.

Stripping and Stuffing Operations:

  • Coordinate and oversee the stripping and stuffing of containers, ensuring that goods are properly handled.
  • Collaborate with logistics teams to schedule and track the stripping and stuffing of shipments, ensuring that deadlines are met and efficiency is maximized.
  • Ensure that all packing complies with safety regulations and standards to prevent damage during operations.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare and submit detailed reports on equipment usage, operational performance, and any issues that arise.
  • Maintain logs and documentation of rental agreements, stripping/packing activities, and inventory. (Movements of containers)
  • Track and document discrepancies or challenges encountered during operations, ensuring that corrective actions are taken promptly.
  • Assist in the creation of performance reviews and operational audits to ensure compliance and accuracy. (To keep record of all invoices of the services)

Coordination with Billing, Cargo Control, Equipment Team, Safety and Security:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the operational team and the billing department, ensuring that all rental equipment charges, as well as stripping and stuffing services, are accurately invoiced.
  • Work closely with the cargo control team to ensure that shipments are tracked and recorded correctly in the system.
  • Ensure that proper documentation is provided for billing purposes, including any relevant receipts, contracts, or agreements.

Verification and Inspection:

  • Oversee inspections during the Verification processes, ensuring compliance with safety.
  • Perform routine checks of inventory and assets to ensure everything is accounted for and in operational order. (Cargo operational procedure)
  • Investigate any documentation discrepancies or damages to container and provide solutions as necessary.

Cross-Functional Coordination:

  • Collaborate with other departments (Planer, Equipment’s, and Security, Safety, Billing, and warehouse teams, RORO) to ensure smooth workflow and efficient handling of equipment, shipments, and operational processes.
  • Communicate effectively with all teams to resolve issues and ensure that objectives are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify areas of process improvement, whether through optimizing equipment rental schedules, refining stripping and stuffing methods, or enhancing reporting practices.
  • Suggest and implement strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline workflows across the equipment rental and logistics processes.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics and Transport management.

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Previous experience working in a shipping and Logistics environment.
  • Familiarity with cargo control, cargo movement, documentation process.
  • Knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements for packing and shipping.
  • Experience in managing and addressing group of people
  • Good communication skills
  • Good English Language both oral & written
  • Good in Ms Office programs: Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Good Leadership skills.
  • Good negotiation and conflict resolution skills
