Summary: The U.S. Mission in Tanzania is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the Truck Driver in the General Services Office. Supervisory Position: No. Relocation Expenses Reimbursed: No. Travel Required: Occasional travel.

Duties:

• • Tanker Truck Operations (60%): Operates medium-sized water and fuel tanker trucks, flat-bed trucks, and forklifts. Transports fuel from the depot to various locations, and water from the NEC compound to different places. Maintains vehicle cleanliness.

• • Flat Bed Truck Operations (20%): Transports heavy equipment, furniture, and household effects (HHE) from the airport, warehouse, and residences. Maintains vehicle cleanliness.

• • Fork Lift Operations (10%): Operates forklifts for container movement at the embassy.

• • Data Entry (10%): Keeps logs of trips and updates trip tickets in FMIS.

Qualifications and Evaluations:

• • Experience: Two (2) years' experience in truck driving from private corporations or government agencies is required.

• • Education: Completion of Primary School (Standard VII) is required.

• • Languages: Level III (Good Working Knowledge) in both English and Kiswahili.

• • Skills: Must have Tanzanian driver's license class "B", "C", "D", and "E" and basic computer skills.

• • Knowledge: Must know roads and streets in Dar es Salaam, traffic laws, and basic auto mechanics.
