French Teacher at Hodari Christian School Tanzania

The French Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging, age-appropriate French lessons in line with Hodari Christian School’s curriculum and timetable. The teacher will nurture students’ interest in languages, help them develop practical communication skills, and support their holistic growth in line with the school’s Christian values and standards.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

• Plan, prepare, and deliver French lessons according to the school timetable.
• Use interactive methods (songs, games, stories, role-play, etc.) to make language learning enjoyable for young learners.
• Ensure lessons align with Cambridge standards (if applicable) and Hodari’s curriculum goals.
• Assess, record, and report on students’ progress regularly.

Student Development

• Encourage students to develop confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in French.
• Provide additional support for students who may be struggling and extend learning for advanced learners.
• Foster a positive, respectful, and disciplined learning environment.

School Community Contribution

• Participate actively in school assemblies, events, and extracurricular activities when required.
• Collaborate with other teachers to integrate French into cross-curricular activities where possible.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Education with a specialization in French OR equivalent qualification.
• Fluency in spoken and written French; good command of English.
• Teaching certification (preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching French at primary/early learning level.
• Strong classroom management and child-centered teaching approach.
• Commitment to Christian values and the mission of Hodari Christian School.
