AKES, T is currently seeking qualified, and experienced School Counselor to fill the vacant positions at Aga Khan Education Service, Tanzania.

Job Summary:

The School Counselor supports students in academic, social-emotional, behavioral, and career development. In collaboration with teachers, administrators, parents, and guardians, they create a safe and supportive learning environment. The counselor implements comprehensive guidance programs aligned with school goals and student needs, ensuring that all students are equipped for success in school and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling to students on academic, social, behavioral, and emotional issues.
• Develop and implement school-wide guidance programs and workshops.
• Conduct assessments and interpret data to identify student needs and progress.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to support student development.
• Assist with crisis intervention and provide referrals to external services when needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience working with children and adolescents in educational settings.
• Knowledge of counseling models, interventions, and child development.
