Job Purpose

The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance of machines and machine parts during both the off-crop and crushing seasons.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and attend to electrical breakdowns during the crushing season.
• Perform inspections according to checklists, carry out spot repairs where necessary, and report findings during daily meetings.
• Repair defective electrical machines during both crushing and off-crop seasons.
• Respond to electrical breakdowns affecting machines and systems throughout the factory.
• Monitor the performance of electrical equipment.
• Ensure safe servicing of electric motors.
• Inspect machine condition and safety before start-up.
• Ensure the safety of personnel and machinery.
• Report defects in electrical equipment.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• Ordinary Diploma (NTA Level 6) in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing industry.
• Motor rewinding experience is an added advantage.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical machinery, operating behaviour, safety procedures, and lockout systems.
• Extensive knowledge of reading and interpreting electrical circuits, fault tracing, and fault rectification.
• Willingness to work long hours when required.
