As Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mechanical systems and equipment used in the production and manufacturing of building materials. This role involves ensuring the efficiency, safety, and reliability of machinery while contributing to process optimization and innovation. The Mechanical Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, and quality assurance, to support continuous improvement initiatives.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment to minimize downtime.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues in production lines and machinery.
- Analyze production processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Implement innovative solutions to enhance equipment performance and reduce energy consumption.
- Plan routine maintenance of plant equipment and machinery.
- Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Function as a project development member to maintain new equipment.
- Work with reliability engineers to extend equipment life cycle.
- Manage budget for current and future equipment upgrades and replacements.
- Check work in progress and during completion to meet specification.
- Estimate cost on equipment system and structure repair or replacement.
- Support on going preventative maintenance program vehicles.
- Ensure all mechanical systems comply with safety standards and regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate potential hazards.
- Work closely with production teams to understand operational needs and provide technical support.
What We’d Love For You To Have

- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in manufacturing or construction materials.
- Experience in the building materials industry or similar manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Familiarity with energy-efficient and sustainable engineering practices.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and automation.
- Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanics and electromechanical systems.
- Proficiency in computer software programs.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
