About the Role
As the Income Auditor, you will play a vital role in maintaining financial integrity by verifying and reconciling all hotel revenue streams. You will ensure that the daily income audit processes align with RIU’s internal controls and reporting standards. Your diligence will help protect company assets and ensure transparency in financial operations.
What You’ll Do
- Monitor and verify daily income transactions including cash balances, credit card slips, and bank deposits.
- Audit revenue movements from all departments such as Front Desk, F&B, Housekeeping, and Reservations.
- Ensure compliance by checking vouchers, discounts, upgrades, late check-outs, and extra charges.
- Investigate discrepancies between Housekeeping and Front Desk reports and highlight irregularities.
- Prepare daily and periodic audit reports, including listings for management and Decenal support.
- Conduct surprise cash counts and review cashier performance and system access controls.
- Maintain accurate filing of financial documents and ensure reservation billing integrity.
*Oversee refunds, article sales, and support the fulfilment of financial reporting standards
What We’re Looking For
- Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 1–2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within a 4- or 5-star hotel environment.
- Strong knowledge of hotel accounting systems (Opera/Fidelio, Micros, SunSystem, or similar).
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- High level of integrity and professionalism in handling confidential information.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written); Swahili and other languages are an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
