Job Description

The Civil Service Commission is an independent institution since its inception in 1986 under the Civil Service Commission Act No. 14 of 1986 and the Zanzibar Constitution of 1984.

In accordance with Section 3 (1) of the Civil Service Commission Act No. 14 of 1986, the Commission consisted of the Chairman, Vice Chairman and five Members who were appointed by Mr. President of Zanzibar and the Chairman of the Council of the Revolution.

The Commission for that time was performing its obligations as stipulated in Civil Service Commission Act No. 14 of 1986 and was responsible for overseeing civil Servants. Among its duties were managing servant’s disciplines, confirmation of servants, increasing service time, retirement, promotion etc.

Qualifications & Experience

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive all visitors to NECTA and direct them to the appropriate officials as necessary.
  • Answer telephone calls and provide callers with accurate information or direct calls to the appropriate person.
  • Transmit telephone and fax messages effectively.
  • Guide and direct customers and visitors to the correct designation.
  • Schedule and assist in planning appointments and the preparation of meetings.
  • Maintain all basic office equipment such as fax machines, postage machines, copiers, and printers.
  • Ensure a clean, professional, and tidy office environment.
  • Receive all incoming mail and submit it to secretaries or respective officials.
  • Ensure proper organization of the front office.
  • Maintain a register of various activities.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Remuneration
