Controller: Managed Transport Solutions at DP World Tanzania

Coordinate and manage seamless transport orders by ensuring timely submission to transporters, capturing vehicle details, and maintaining accurate system updates. Monitor and control road and sea shipments end-to-end, including proactive tracking, escalation of delays, and continuous communication with client and stakeholders.

Ensure documentation accuracy and compliance, including verification before departure, repository filing, and POD checks for invoicing readiness. Assist in the flawless execution of operational activities and responsible for the accurate and complete capturing of specified Key Performance Indicators in TMS.

Key Performance Areas

• Daily receiving and processing of transport orders from the client.
• Immediate submission of truck requests to transporters and prompt communication of vehicle details to the client.
• Continuous tracking of vehicles from allocation until delivery, including proactive escalation of delays (loading, paperwork, border, breakdowns).
• Daily measurement of KPIs in line with client SLA.
• Circulation of Load Position Reports and status updates to client and receiving points.
• Acknowledge and verify documentation before vehicle departure.
• Accurate capturing of arrival/departure times, shortages, damages, and claims in TMS.
• Save all documentation and PODs in repository for easy retrieval and compliance.
• Maintain professional, service-driven relationships with clients, warehouses, loading/offloading points, and subcontractors.
• Timely communication via email/WhatsApp to avoid delays and ensure transparency.
• Capture all relevant load data into TMS promptly.
• Reconcile PODs in preparation for invoicing.
• Pro-active communication with loading and off-loading points, customers, operator and Management.

Qualifications Required

• A Degree / Diploma in Logistics.

Experience and Skills Required

• At least two years’ proper and similar controlling experience in vehicle routing and scheduling.
• Computer literacy – experienced in working on a transport operational system, MS Word, PowerPoint and above-average MS Excel skills.
• Excellent communication skills – daily contact with clients, delivery points, subcontractors.
• Knowledge of East Africa logistics, including documentation requirements and border processes.
