Ahar Agro Tanzania Limited is the Tanzanian sourcing entity of Ahar Group. It handles the sourcing, procurement, and logistics of agricultural commodities within the country. The company works directly with farmers, aggregators, and suppliers, ensuring that high-quality commodities are sourced efficiently and delivered to export markets.
Job Overview
Ahar Group is looking for a detailed-oriented Export Documentation & Logistics Manager with deep expertise in handling the end-to-end documentation and compliance for agro commodity exports. This role requires coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure all export documentation is accurate, timely, and compliant with buyer, banking, and regulatory requirements. A strong understanding of Tanzanian export regulations, port procedures, and international trade documentation is essential.
Key Responsibilities
The primary focus of this role is on Export Documentation & Compliance. You will be responsible for:
- Preparing and verifying all export documents, such as invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, phytosanitary certificates, and bills of lading.
- Liaising with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and clearing agents to ensure compliance with all regulatory and shipping line requirements.
- Ensuring all documentation meets the destination country's requirements and is submitted to clients, banks, and regulatory bodies on time.
In terms of Shipping & Logistics Coordination, you will:
- Liaise with port operators, shipping lines, and transporters for booking containers and vessel loading.
- Ensure timely trucking to ports to prevent storage or demurrage charges.
- Follow up with clearing agents to ensure smooth cargo clearance and vessel departure.
- Optimize logistics costs by negotiating competitive rates.
For Internal Coordination & Inventory Movement, you will:
- Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to align shipment timelines with stock readiness.
- Maintain accurate stock movement records.
- Track the shipment lifecycle from sourcing to export clearance.
Finally, you will handle Reporting & Risk Management by:
- Maintaining export trackers and documentation archives.
- Highlighting any risks or delays and proposing proactive solutions.
- Preparing regular reports on documentation timelines, compliance, and cost performance.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in export documentation and logistics, preferably with agro commodities.
- Strong knowledge of Tanzanian export regulations, port documentation, and customs processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- A proven ability to manage complex documentation without errors.
- Effective communication skills, with experience working with banks, clearing agents, and global buyers.
- The ability to manage multiple shipments and documentation timelines simultaneously.
