Fleet Foreman at DSM Corridor Group (DCG)

DSM Corridor Group Ltd (DCG) is seeking a competent and experienced Fleet Foreman to support the efficient management of fleet operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating daily fleet activities, ensuring proper vehicle maintenance, supervising drivers, and maintaining high
operational and safety standards.

The Candidate Duties and responsibilities (includes but not
limited to):

1. Oversee and coordinate daily fleet operations, including truck allocation and driver assignments, while providing timely progress updates to the Fleet Supervisor.
2. Monitor vehicle repair activities and preventive maintenance schedules in line with approved workshop plans and ensure timely completion of maintenance work.
3. Lead and enforce daily vehicle inspection routines, ensuring drivers complete inspection checklists and that vehicle logbooks are reviewed and endorsed regularly.
4. Ensure high standards of cleanliness, housekeeping, and general condition of trucks, trailers, and fleet-related facilities.
5. Manage and coordinate vehicle breakdown responses, including arranging repairs and providing regular status updates to the Fleet Supervisor
6. Provide operational updates on ongoing fleet activities and closely supervise driver conduct and performance at loading and offloading locations such as Terminals, ICDs, and Ports.
7. Ensure compliance with all safety, statutory, and company policies, including valid licenses, permits, inspections, and regulatory requirements.
8. Maintain proper control and custody of fleet tools and safety equipment and prepare monthly inventory reports.
9. Work closely with Fleet Supervisors to support effective driver availability planning, including monitoring attendance, absenteeism, and driver turnover.
10. Comply with DCG’s Quality, Environmental, and Occupational Health and Safety standards in accordance with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018.
11. Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor or Manager in line with departmental and organizational objectives.

Qualifications & Experience:

1. Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Logistics and Transport,
   or a related field.
2. Minimum 3 years of experience in fleet management, Port and ICD operations, transport
   operations, or workshop supervision.
3. Valid driving license for both light and heavy trucks, Heavy Duty Driving experience for more than 5 years
4. Good understanding of vehicle maintenance, fleet operations, and transport logistics.
5. Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication).
6. Good command of English and Swahili, both written and spoken.
7. Strong leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
8. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple operational tasks.
9. Experience working with GPS tracking systems and fleet monitoring platforms.
