Job Description

Bahari Foods is a family-owned import and export seafood company based in Dar es Salaam. For over a decade, we have built a strong reputation for our processing and exporting seafood to International markets. We are now in a pivotal phase of growth, expanding our portfolio with other high-quality frozen products. We are looking for an ambitious and driven professional to lead our commercial strategy and execute our expansion plans.

About the Role:

We are seeking a capable and results-oriented Sales Manager to take ownership of our market growth. This is a demanding, hands-on role for a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving sales and market share across multiple product lines and territories. The person in this role will serve as a key driver of the company’s future and must be prepared to handle a wide range of responsibilities, from direct sales to brand management and international relations.

Your Responsibilities

Sales & Client Relationship Management:

  • Serve as point of contact for our portfolio of hotels and restaurants in East Africa.
  • Manage and grow existing client relationships while actively seeking and securing new large-scale accounts.
  • Maintain a rigorous CRM system to track sales activities and client interactions.

Retail & Merchandising:

  • Oversee our retail accounts, regularly visiting branches to monitor product placement and stock levels.
  • Actively work to increase product visibility and push for higher stock quantities with the client.

Market & Product Portfolio Expansion:

  • Conduct market research to identify new product opportunities and assess competitive pricing.
  • Engage with existing clients to understand their needs and introduce new products to our portfolio.

Brand & Marketing Coordination:

  • Lead the market launch of our new plant-based portfolio in Tanzania.
  • Organize and execute roadshows, partnerships, and activations at key locations and events

International Business Development:

  • Manage communications and inquiries from potential distributors and partners in other African territories.
  • Explore and assess potential for future market expansion across the region for our product portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Sales Experience (FMCG sector a plus, Food-related experience is a further plus)
