Job Description

Context :

Tanga grapples with various socioeconomic challenges. These challenges include elevated poverty rates, insufficient access to education and healthcare, and limited job opportunities, especially for women and youth. Despite these obstacles, Tanga boasts significant potential for growth across multiple sectors such as tourism, agriculture, fishing, and technology. However, it is crucial to address the underlying impediments to economic development in the region.

Nevertheless, Tanga has a wealth of untapped potential for entrepreneurship. These entrepreneurial opportunities span diverse industries, including technology startups, agriculture, and tourism, all of which are primed for innovation and investment. By investing in the local community, INCO can facilitate access to the resources and networks entrepreneurs need to succeed, from funding to business development guidance.

The general objective targeted by INCO is to boost the growth of Tanga’s entrepreneurship ecosystem by supporting local organizations. To reach this global objective, INCO has devised a comprehensive strategy consisting of three primary phases :

  1. Empowering local organizations: INCO will collaborate with local organizations to help them create incubation and/or accelerator programs. This will be achieved through our capacity-building program, enhancing their capabilities and expertise.
  2. Supporting and funding startups and entrepreneurs: INCO will establish a new incubator program with the local organizations to support and fund startups and entrepreneurs operating in Tanga.
  3. Strengthening the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Tanga by connecting it to national and international stakeholders. This collaborative approach will further bolster the region's entrepreneurial endeavors, fostering connections that facilitate sustainable growth and development.
