Job Description

Organization: CCBRT
Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
CCBRT is seeking a qualified Quality and Safety Officer to support the Quality Assurance Department in strengthening quality management systems, improving patient safety, and enhancing healthcare service delivery. The successful candidate will play a key role in implementing quality improvement initiatives, conducting clinical audits, and promoting continuous improvement across the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Lead and support the implementation of 5S, Kaizen, Total Quality Management (TQM), and Lean initiatives.
- Define and integrate quality management processes into the Hospital Management Information System (HMIS).
- Conduct internal quality training sessions and awareness programs for staff.
- Support the Quality Assurance Department in implementing quality structures and processes across nursing and midwifery services.
- Conduct internal quality audits and follow up on audit findings.
- Prepare quality reports and support complaint management processes related to service quality.
- Facilitate scientific problem-solving and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Monitor compliance with the organization's Quality Improvement Plan (QIP).
- Assess documentation, identify quality gaps, and provide capacity building to staff.
- Support departments in developing, reviewing, and updating policies, procedures, guidelines, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Plan and conduct annual quality-related training programs.
- Collect and analyze client feedback and prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly quality reports.
- Provide training and support to teams based on customer feedback and quality improvement needs.
- Coordinate internal Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) assessments.
- Conduct nursing and clinical audits to improve service quality and patient safety.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in General Nursing, Midwifery, Psychiatric Nursing, or Nursing Administration.
- At least 6 years of clinical experience.
- Experience working in a Quality Assurance or Quality Improvement unit is an added advantage.
- Strong clinical knowledge and patient care experience.
- Experience as a trainer, coach, or mentor for healthcare professionals.
- Ability to mobilize and lead multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience conducting clinical and nursing audits.
- Computer literacy.
- Good written and spoken English and Swahili.
- Flexible, proactive, eager to learn, and able to manage multiple responsibilities.
