Claims Officer – Individual Life at Metro Life Assurance

Provides administrative and technical support to Manager and Underwriting supervisor, assist with portfolio analysis to guide strategic decisions

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Evaluates a claim by reviewing the claim documents, coverages, reserves, and payments
• Review the claim details, deceased details, and beneficiary details.
• Calculating possible risks and deciding on the premium - how much individuals should pay for insurance
• Use Workspace to work on all aspects of an individual life claim case, this will enable claim officer to monitor the workload and performance, navigate across tasks and manage multiple policies in claim.
• Make recommendations for the settlement of claims
• Inform clients if claims are accepted and how they will be allocated.
• Make sure all enquiries and payments are dealt with quickly
• Prepare monthly reports

Requirements:

• Hold at least a Degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Business Administration or related fields
• CII holder will be an added advantage
• Proven experience (at least 2years) in claim Individual Life policies
• Ability to absorb and understand technical information quickly.
• Ability to work under pressure of deadlines
• Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral) in English and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
• Accurate, with an eye for detail
• Organised and able to work under pressure
• Proficient in the use of standard MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
