Background

The production supervisor oversees the manufacturing process and ensures that production is successful by managing all aspects of it. The production supervisor is responsible for increasing productivity with innovative methods and motivating staff to perform better. To be successful as a production supervisor you must be goal-oriented and methodical.

The work will be in the Mikocheni and Kijitonyama area. This position requires work outside of normal 8:30am - 6pm operating hours. Please do NOT apply if you are not passionate and available to dedicate time to this position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise the entire operations of the facility with an aim for high performance.
• Provide training, supervision, and educational materials to junior staff.
• Identifying and troubleshooting production issues.
• Ensure and prioritize workflow of production to meet deadlines.
• Conduct quarterly reviews for staff performance.
• Ensure compliance with professional standards such as occupational health and safety and customer requirements.
• Provide directions and production schedules to the sales department.
• Submit reports on performance, production and progress reports.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Organizational and leadership abilities required.
• High School, Degree in a technical, food processing or relevant field will be an advantage.
• Additional certification obtained in food science and processing is desired.
• Proven experience working in a supervisory role in the food and processing industry preferred.
• Sharp production focus with a drive for accurate results
• Flexible to work long hours as required to meet production deadlines.

• Good problem-solving and communication skills to resolve issues with meat processing.

• Able to sit, walk, and move around for long hours at a time.
