The job holder is a Senior Foreign Service National (FSN) and the Mission’s in-house Climate Change expert who serves as a technical specialist within the USAID/Tanzania Economic Growth Office (EG). The job holder will work closely with the Natural Resource Management (NRM) Team. In this capacity, the job holder manages projects and activities in support of NRM in Tanzania and is responsible for overseeing the implementation of some of USAID/Tanzania’s NRM portfolio and providing direction for other climate change and NRM-related programs. The job holder provides a full range of expert climate change, environment, and NRM-related advice and analytical and technical support to the EG Office; supports program priorities that strengthen gender equity; and liaises with other Mission programs to identify synergies in programs. The Specialist develops internal Mission documentation supporting project planning and implementation, such as Action Memoranda, Operational Plan, Performance Reports, and others. The Specialist also monitors, manages, and ensures that deliverables are received from project contractors. The Specialist reports to the NRM Team Leader.
