Job Description
Mapambano ya Kifua Kikuu na Ukimwi Temeke (MUKIKUTE) is a non-governmental organisation operating in Tanzania. It was founded in 2002 and legally registered in 2007.
MUKIKUTE institutional goal is to coordinate community action to fight TB and HIV. Established primarily as a tuberculosis patient and community advocacy organization, it has facilitated tuberculosis and HIV treatment in the community, traced patients who missed treatment in vulnerable populations, also has actively participated in sensitizing the community to promote HIV testing and tuberculosis screening.
MUKIKUTE has received a grant from DAHW/ Germany Leprosy and Tuberculosis Relief Association(GLRA) for implementing a project titled “ Improving Access to Tuberculosis services and Quality of Life among People who use drugs”. The project geographical coverage is Tanga and Morogoro Municipalities.
To achieve this goal, MUKIKUTE is looking for interested candidates to fill in the following positions.
- Job Title: Project Coordinator
Job description:
- Collaborate with the management team to prepare detailed project work plan including budget.
- Supervise the implementation of the project activities in collaboration with scheduled officers.
- In collaboration with the management team to recruit and certify various volunteers to be assigned to the project.
- Submit project implementation progress reports as agreed by the management and GLRA.
- Communicate with Senior project advisor as appropriate for the smooth operation of the project.
- To supervise regular data collection through Data Manager and ensure quality of the data by random verifications and validations.
- To conduct project staff performance evaluation.
- To analyze and discuss findings based on regular monitoring data with GLRA team.
- Identify and evaluate the risks to the organization's people (clients, staff, management, volunteers), property, finances, goodwill, and image and implement measures to control risks.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Director.
Job related experience and knowledge:
- Advanced Diploma or Degree in Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, Health Education and communication, Sociology, Social Work, community development, Project planning and management and related field.
- Master’s degree in health-related field is an added advantage.
- Five years’ experience in managing health programs including planning, designing, supervising, and evaluating healthcare programs.
- Acknowledged skills in one of or more of the following areas: TB, HIV, STIs, and Family Planning related health services.
- Previous experience and understanding of Gender policies and human rights policies is preferred.
- Experience of working with RCHMT, CHMT and LGA’s in the implementation of projects
- Experience of managing donor funded project.
- Experience of coordinating key and vulnerable population project.
- Demonstrated ability in managing teams to achieve health results.
- Ability to develop productive working relationships with counterparts and other agencies and organizations.
- Aware of and sensitive to working in multiple socio-economic settings and with multicultural/behavioral groups.
- Proven leadership skills as well as skills in facilitation, team building and coordination.
- Willingness to work overtime for project success.
