VACANCY

Background: About Doctors with Africa - CUAMM

Doctors with Africa - CUAMM is a health organisation that implements health projects to help availability of quality healthcare especially to the most vulnerable. CUAMM focuses on designing health system strengthening projects, with particular attention to the needs of women and children, and tailored to the specific needs of the countries where the organization carries out projects. Through its evidence-based approach, CUAMM works to remove the barriers preventing communities from accessing health services, and to improve the quality of the same services, to achieve accessible, quality and equitable healthcare for everyone.

 

CUAMM is currently implementing a project on HIV and adolescents: “Adolescents and young people at the heart: preventing and treating HIV in a stigma-free society (AID 012596/02/0)”. In the context of the project, Doctors with Africa – CUAMM is supporting 5 CTCs in Shinyanga MC and Shinyanga DC. CUAMM is holding sensitization sessions on HIV and other infectious diseases, mainly in schools, and communities; providing also the possibility to get the HIV test at the end of the sessions.

 

CUAMM is seeking qualified candidates available from August 2024 to fill the following position:

Position Summary

-        Support clinical work in the five CTCs of the target health facilities

-        Collaborate with the Project Manager in designing and implementing the sensitization sessions on HIV and other infectious diseases

-        Collaborate with the project manager and other project staff for implementation of other project activities including provision of your technical knowledge/experience.

Specific tasks

  1. Support clinical activities in the target CTCs.
  2. Supervise CTC organization, clinical decision-making process for difficult HIV clients, and diagnosis of treatment and prevention of opportunistic infections among HIV clients.
  3. Support HIV adolescent’s clinic activities in the project CTCs.
  4. Provide training on-the-job to the health personnel for the management of HIV+ adolescents and young adults accessing services.
  5. Elaborate a monthly report on the clinical activities.
  6. Support the Project Manager in data quality supervision and managing.
  7. Collaborate with the Project Manager in designing and implementing the sensitization sessions on HIV and other infectious diseases.
  8. Collaborate with the M&E Officer in data collection at healthcare facilities’ level on access to services, enrolment and adherence to ARV therapy in the target facilities and other required data.
  9. Participate to coordination and technical meetings with local, regional and national partners (including international and local NGOs, NIMR, NACP, and TACAIDS), when requested by the Project Manager or the Country Manager (CM)
  10. Support the Project Manager during visits by representatives of MoH, NIMR, NACP, TACAIDS, GF, and other institutions.
  11. Other activities as assigned by the Project Manager.

 

Required qualifications and experience

  • Medical school degree with a valid licence to operate in Tanzania.
  • Experience in CTC setting.
  • Previous experience with international NGOs is preferred.

Languages

Excellent English, both written and spoken, is required. Sukuma language speaking is an added advantage.

Duty Station

Doctors with Africa – CUAMM Project Office, Shinyanga Municipal, with trips to target CTCs of the project within Shinyanga MC and Shinyanga DC.

Contract Duration

1 year contract with possible renewal.
