Work Experience

Agroforestry Manager
One Acre Fund 2016-08-08 - 2022-07-30 Lead and manage the implementation of Agroforestry activities like recruiting, establishing 10 tree nurseries, distribute 100% of produced seedlings free to farmers at Meru and Mufindi. • Data collection on farmer’s tree demand survey on the tree varieties they are demanding. • Hiring and onboarding 12 Nursery Managers and their assistance. • Assist the Nursery Managers to manage and coordinate the implementation of 13 nursery setting, sockets fillings, trees seed planting, watering and weeding. • In coordination with other team members and assistance of the Agroforestry Coordinator and Specialist, develop monitoring mechanisms to track progress on activities like sockets feelings, seeds plantings, seedlings watering, germinated seedlings, grown seeds and provide feedback for continuous improvement. • Collect and document feedback from the field on the implementation of the methodology including challenges and lessons learned. • Consolidate and implement farmers’ awareness of the importance of planting trees, as well as ensure adapting to using it. • Liaise closely with government and agroforests who are the lead implementing agencies for Agriculture. • Strategy and supervise projects, field trips, other experiential activities, and guide farmers in learning from those activities. • Government relations issues • Trees distributions to farmers in more than 13 villages of Meru and Mufindi Achievements • Led a team of 13 Nursery managers and 8 Field assistances. • Produced and distributed 250k trees varieties to farmers at Meru and Mufindi. • Administered 13 sites at Meru and Mufindi. • Hired 10 field assistances and Nursery Managers and 20 casuals. • Coached 10 field officers and managers. • Introduced 13 tree nurseries with different tree varieties. • Distributed 500k Hass avocado to farmers at Mufindi. • Successfully executed marketing strategies to 200k farmers.
