Seed Co Tanzania, a leading supplier of crop seeds, seeks to recruit a capable and experienced Safety, Health, and Environment Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards across all operations, including employees, contractors, and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Enforce company SHE policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance across all operations.
- Provide daily guidance, training, and support on safety and environmental programs at all levels.
- Identify workplace hazards, conduct risk assessments, and implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Conduct inspections, audits, and incident investigations, ensuring timely corrective action closure.
- Ensure contractor compliance with safety requirements and safe work practices.
- Develop, update, and implement SOPs, emergency preparedness plans, and safety procedures.
- Coordinate regulatory inspections, permits, and environmental compliance reporting.
- Lead safety training programs, risk assessments, and emergency response initiatives.
- Maintain accurate SHE records, documentation, and compliance reports.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and lead or support the Safety Committee.
- Support continuous improvement of workplace safety culture and environmental performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Management or a related field.
- 3–5 years' experience in Safety, Health, and Environmental Management.
- Agricultural background and/or management qualification will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
