Overview
ALPO Guided Expeditions is a Kilimanjaro climbing specialist based at the Clock Tower in Arusha, Tanzania. We focus on one mountain and know it intimately, running fully guided expeditions on the Machame, Lemosho, Marangu, Rongai and Northern Circuit routes — in small groups, with a 1:3 guide-to-climber ratio and a 95-97% success rate on our signature Machame Route.
The team behind the climb is our difference. Co-founder Yevgen Staroselskiy is a Master of Sport of the USSR in Mountaineering and a Snow Leopard title holder who has summited Everest, K2 and the Seven Summits. Co-founder and lead guide Liberaty Victor Mato has more than 220 Kilimanjaro ascents and is Wilderness First Responder certified.
Every expedition is built around acclimatization and safety: a steady pole pole pace, daily blood-oxygen and pulse checks, and emergency oxygen carried on the mountain. We are a KPAP member operator with open, published pricing for each route. Alongside our climbs, we arrange Tanzania safaris across the northern parks and Zanzibar beach extensions on request.
