Overview
Babati Town Council officially known as Babati Urban District serves as the urban local government authority of Babati Town, which doubles as the administrative headquarters of Manyara Region in northern Tanzania. Originally awarded town council status in 2004 by Government Notice No. 352, it emerged as a separate jurisdiction from Babati District Council to enable more focused urban planning and service delivery under the Local Government framework.
