Overview
Bayer in Tanzania is operated through Bayer Life Sciences Tanzania Limited, with its main base in Arusha in the Themi Industrial Area where it maintains offices and two warehouses, and an additional major facility in Mbeya with a large warehouse.
The company’s focus in Tanzania is largely on agriculture: after acquiring Monsanto, Bayer expanded its product range to include five Dekalb maize hybrids and a broad crop protection portfolio featuring products such as Belt 480SC, Decis Forte, Confidor, Velum Prime, Thunder, Folicur and Nativo, along with herbicides like Roundup and seed treatment products such as Gaucho.
While Bayer also has pharma and consumer health products available in Tanzania, those are distributed from its Nairobi regional office rather than being handled locally.
